Waterfall Resort – WINNER of 2010 BEST FISHING RESORT of YEAR AWARD
Monroe, WA – 2-1-2011 – The 1st Annual Go Fish Magazine Awards today named Waterfall Resort as the Best Fishing Resort of the Year.
Waterfall Resort received Go Fish Magazine’s highest yearly award based on several factors including, unique wilderness setting on the southwest side of Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska and great salmon, halibut and lingcod fishing areas. Five Star Service, Fishing Equipment, Fishing Boats, Fishing Guides, Ambience, Fish Packaging and great food combined to make Waterfall Resort an obvious winner for the award in 2010.
The resort is built on the former site of historic Waterfall Cannery. Much of the historic Waterfall Cannery is blended into Waterfall Resort and takes guests back in time to Alaska’s golden years.
“Last summer I visited Waterfall Resort and experienced one of the best fishing trips of my life,” said John L. Beath, Editor of Go Fish Magazine. “In addition to great fishing Waterfall Resort provided unmatched service and a great place to relax and tell daily fish stories.”
Getting to Waterfall Resort is easy via Alaska Airlines from Seattle to Ketchikan Alaska. Guests then take a 45 minute float plane ride to the lodge. Alaska Airlines has an onsite agent at the lodge to make it super easy for guests to check into their flight and check their bags from the resort to their final destination. This unique service also contributed to the award.
